How does heating work?
Your room will have a radiator which is controlled by a variety of factors: the property's Heating Times, the external and building temperatures, and the radiator’s own temperature control, if installed. From early October, the heating times will normally be Monday – Friday: 6 - 9am, 12 - 2pm if the outside temperature is below 12 degrees centigrade, and 6 - 10pm. Weekends: 7 - 9am, 12 - 2pm and 6 - 10pm.There will be periods during weekdays when the heating is not switched on, so please do not expect your radiator to work outside of the times listed above. It is not common practice in the UK for heating to be on continuously throughout the night. From mid-April, heating is traditionally switched off. At times of unusually cold or hot weather, adjustments may be made to the heating times mentioned above. The water heating system is switched on from 5am until midnight all year round. After that time, if the remaining hot water in the system is used up, you risk having a cold shower. If the external temperature is higher than 15 degrees centigrade and/or the internal building temperature is higher than 22 degrees, then the heating will not come on. A temperature of 21-22 degrees is considered a comfortable level for indoor heating. Most radiators are fitted with a temperature control valve, usually on the bottom right of the radiator, which will be marked with a numbered dial so you can turn your heating up to 5 on the dial or down.

The rooms in the International Students House were very clean and well maintained. The service of the staff was also excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we had every thing we needed. I highly recommend anyone looking for a place to stay, come here.
Avoid if you want to sleep!
There is a huge problem with the water riser system (pipes that bring water throughout the building) and it makes so much noise!!
Each room has a water pipe cabinet + there are water pipe cabinets in the hallways next to the rooms. Everytime a guest in the hotel opens a water tap, there is an extremely loud noise from the water pipes.
I stayed in a first room, and couldn't sleep because of this noise. I asked to change rooms thinking it was an issue just on that floor. But no, it is an issue throughout the residence. Very loud, very disturbing. I had to check out to another hotel after a few nights because it became unbearable.
Shame because the rest of the accomodation is modern and well equipped and it is a prime London location. Staff was helpful to get me a room change. But ultimately, it is far too noisy to recommend. I don't know how they expect students to live here.
Lovely stay. Was there for a little while, and the staff were lovely, the location is great and nice rooms. Federico was such a nice guy and was so good at making guests feel welcome and Alan went out of his way to help and was very accomodating. Thanks for the stay!
The rooms were very clean, especially the bathrooms. My extended stay was most comfortable. The kitchenette was one of my favorite amenities as I was able to host my friends for dinner and breakfast. The building is easily accessible and the staff is very friendly to internationals.
Stayed here for a few nights and had a great experience overall. One thing I really appreciated was how secure the building felt, access is controlled by key cards so only guests can enter the building and access their floor.
There are multiple bus stops within a 1-5 minute walk, including Windmill Row and Durham Street, making it easy to get around London by bus. Vauxhall Station (Victoria line, National Rail and a major bus interchange) is only around an around 6 minute walk away, so getting to central London and other parts of the city is pretty convenient. There’s also a supermarket directly across the road which was very handy during my stay.
The staff were very accommodating. I had two separate stays with a few days in between, and they kindly allowed me to store my luggage during that time.
The only minor downside was the bathroom light, which is controlled by a motion sensor. The sensor wasn’t responsive enough and would sometimes switch off while I was still in the bathroom.
Overall, this is good value for money!
