Today I checked in my son to the Yugo Accommodation (The Curve), the process was very smooth and quick. The facilities are well kept and in good condition. The staff were very helpful and understanding . The rooms are nicely furnished meeting the needs of young ones with plenty of storage and a lot of shared areas…modern and clean…nice study hall and gym. As a parent I feel very content and I hope my son will have a lot of good days starting his new chapter in life. Many thanks to the team specially Abigail and Shahz

Since I moved in last September, there has been continuous construction with no real break. It started with them dismantling every single apartment door in the building — removing each door, lowering the frame slightly, and reinstalling it (this affected all rooms). The process created an enormous amount of dust. I had a dust allergy and had to take antihistamines for an entire week because of it. After that, they began repairing smoke detectors (or whatever that are inside the ceilings) on every floor. This month, they started working on the corridor doors. In just half a year, there has been nonstop drilling and construction noise that seriously affects your mental well-being. The maintenance workers often play loud music and chat loudly while working. They also leave trash behind. On my floor, they left dirty gloves and leftover ketchup in the corridor for a long time before management finally cleaned it up. What makes it worse is that residents are not always notified in advance. Many times, I was woken up by sudden, extremely loud drilling, only to find out at reception that yet another repair project had started. There are three elevators across the buildings, but at least one elevator is broken around 80% of the time. Residents are often forced to detour and use elevators in other buildings. On average, it takes more than a month for an elevator to be repaired. Overall, the constant construction, poor communication, and unreliable facilities make this a very stressful place to live.

The front desk is very friendly, and there are plenty of activities. They often host ice cream making sessions or holiday decorations for events like Halloween. The common room features billiards, table tennis, and card games.

Worst experience I ever had. I had a bad neighbor annoyed me for 4 months and they couldn’t help me at all nor even control him. Then, everyday they were bringing contractors and do maintenance everyday! Whether door maintenance, fire alarm, painting walls, literally anything! The contractors woke me up everyday whether from their noise or because they want to enter my room. One of the times I got stolen and when I complained of all of those accidents all they did was apologizing, not even compensating of the robbery! When I asked them that no one enters my room again, they objected! A whole year I had insomnia because of them! A whole I was living in hell, even when I wanted to leave they didn’t allow me to leave the place nor even returning my money! They were looking for any hindrance to annoy me! They never offered any help or even any alternative solution! Even when I wanted to sublet my room they rejected! I lost my money in an unbearable place! A lot of my friends who had a small accident or a negative experience, the management were offering help and even compensated them! If I had a chance to sue them, I would! A place I will never recommend to any student who wants to focus on his studies or sleep in a healthy environment and a safe place! It doesn’t consist of any! I admit that the security guards were helpful and tried to mitigate the noise from my neighbor or even the contractors! Even them they were complaining and informed me that they cannot do anything else, it’s in the hands of the management. Worst management and worst place! Honestly, I would sue them!

I wanted to leave a review because we arrived on Saturday with my daughter to check in. There were quite a few students arriving at the same time, but everything was very quick and well organised. When we were trying to find our way to her room, a lovely guy called Rapha offered to help us. He showed us around both Block B and Block A and walked us all the way to the room. The building is huge, so without his help, we would probably have struggled to find our way around! He also explained how the kitchen worked, how the cleaning arrangements worked, and helped us with all our suitcases and boxes. I wanted to give him a tip to thank him, but he kindly refused and simply asked me to leave a review for Scape if I was happy with his help. A big thank you to the whole Scape team, and especially to Rapha, for being so helpful, polite and honest. He really made the whole arrival and move-in process much easier for us. Thank you so much, Rapha! It was greatly appreciated.

It usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes to tour Yugo The Curve student accommodation in person, however, they also offer virtual viewings too!

Can I choose who my flatmates are at Yugo The Curve?

You can choose to live at Yugo The Curve student accommodation with your friends by selecting the same flat number when you book with us. Please note, this is subject to availability, so it’s best to book early to avoid disappointment!

Do you provide female only Yugo The Curve accommodation?

Yes, if you prefer to have a single gender flat just speak to their Yugo The Curve support team when you book with us. This is subject to demand and flat availability so they’d recommend getting in touch as early as you can.

What is a guarantor and why do I need one for booking Yugo The Curve student accommodation?

A guarantor is someone who agrees to pay your rent if you’re unable to, for example one of your parents or a close relative. If you’re unable to meet rent payments please speak to your support team, they’ll only contact your guarantor to pay rent as a last resort if you cannot meet the agreement of your tenancy at Yugo The Curve.

What do I do if I’m an international student and don’t have a guarantor?

If you’re an international student and would like to pay your rent in instalments, you’ll need a UK based guarantor. If this isn’t possible, you can still book a room, but you’ll have to pay your rent in an upfront annual sum instead.

Do I need to be a full-time student to book a room at Yugo The Curve?

To live with Yugo The Curves whilst studying at University, you will need to be 18 or older.

Yugo The Curve don’t allow smoking inside your residence, but you’re free to smoke outside.
