BEWARE DO NOT BOOK (VIDEOS ATTACHED). I’ve lived in 3 student accommodations before and I have NEVER experienced anything like YourTRIBE Deptford. Do not move here if you value your safety, comfort or peace of mind. I reported my aircon/ventilation from March until my tenancy ended in September. It was never properly checked or fixed, even through the UK heatwaves. Maintenance in general was useless it was report, chase, complain, repeat, and still nothing gets done. The worst part was safety. Myself and other girls were repeatedly harassed by a 49-year-old male resident. I personally reported him around 8 times after him knocking on my door, harassing us and forcing his way into other girls rooms. Their solution was to ban him from communal areas but that did not stop the harassment. Another older resident’s boyfriend would also regularly turn up under the influence of substances, screaming at 3am. During arguments he would climb the outside of the building from the ground to the 4th floor to break into her room, while other students had balcony doors open because of the heat problem, putting them in a dangerous situation where the substances could of made him go into any of the students room and do unthinkable things (we see stuff like this on the news all the time) managements solution was to call the police instead of removing the problem. They also changed their payment system, then started chasing students for money that had already been paid. Proof of payment was repeatedly sent by email and ignored, while staff would come to rooms without even knocking, with card machines, talking about “debt collection”, demanding payment and would start making threats about you being liable for additional charges. For a professional student accommodation, payment disputes should be handled properly through written communication and accurate account records, not by turning up at students doors pressing them for money they have already paid. Please and I do not say this lightly DO NOT be fooled by the positive reviews either. During my tenancy, positive reviews were encouraged through incentives/competitions such as gift-card entries and other prizes. Read the negative reviews, you will see the same complaints again and again. YourTRIBE staff care far more about collecting your money than your comfort, safety or wellbeing. Police were outside this building constantly, sometimes almost every night, yet instead of actually removing the source of the problem, management seemed more interested in finding loopholes that allowed them to keep collecting rent while students were left dealing with the consequences. This was their first year operating this accommodation, and you would think that would make them want to prove themselves and build a good reputation. Instead, from my experience, they made it very clear from the start where their priorities were, and it was not the students. I genuinely do not believe this will magically improve just because time passes. STUDENTS SHOULD BE YOUR PRIORITY, if we're already not we never will be. *Videos attached* all videos belong to and have been take from and of residents who live in the building. (especially the first one she is the girlfriend of the boyfriend not a random stranger on the street).
