While I had a good experience here during the academic year, the summer completely changed my opinion. If you’re a Master’s or postgraduate student staying through summer, I would recommend going elsewhere. The studios become unbearably hot. My room reached 36°C at night when it was only 23°C outside. The rooms trap heat and the windows barely open, making them extremely difficult to cool. The biggest issue is the constant groups of underage international students throughout the summer. They are loud, crowd the common areas, and make the accommodation feel more like a summer camp than somewhere adults actually live. They even organise a weekly nightclub-style event for the underage students until around 11pm, despite their own handbook having earlier “quiet hours.” When I reported the noise, management did nothing. It’s ridiculous to enforce quiet hours on residents while the accommodation itself organises loud events past them. Also worth knowing: they organized events where they offered free drinks in exchange for writing a positive review, so keep that in mind when looking at the ratings. It’s a shame because the staff are good (reception, security and maintenance are always helpful) and I enjoyed living here during the academic year. But the summer experience is completely unsuitable for postgraduate or mature students, and I would not recommend staying here year-round.
