⚠️CAUTION ⚠️ The heat in the rooms is unbearable during the hot London weather. Reception will provide a fan, but it does not help much. The whole building urgently needs AC installed. If you ignore the heat, the student rooms are good value. My room was clean and comfortable, ignoring the unbearable heat. Working kitchenette is great. My en-suite shower needed a replacement head, otherwise good. The gym is decent. There are pleasant communal spaces to work or relax. Location is 5 mins from King’s Cross, nearby to shops and restaurants. Housekeeping is not provided unless you stay 5 days or longer, and you still have to ask! This is not good enough. Paying guests need bins emptied and towels changed proactively – instead you have to ask for this and are made to feel like an inconvenience. The property is not managed like a B&B or a hotel, so it feels unprofessional on some levels. Those responsible for the summer stays need to do a better job.

1 / 2If you are at UAL this is the obvious place to look, and the walk to the Granary Building is short enough that you will do it in the rain without thinking about it. King’s Cross St Pancras carries six Underground lines plus the Thameslink, which makes it the easiest address here to get anywhere from. Coal Drops Yard and the canal are the reason people stay on after they graduate.
